The Perfect Biscuits

My mom tried out a new biscuit recipe the other day. She said "these are the best biscuits I've ever eaten or made."  She is 73 years old and has made plenty-o-biscuits in her time.  So, take her word for it because they really ARE the best biscuits, ever! So easy and they have the greatest texture to them. They are definitely going to be a staple on my table from now on  unless I can sweet talk her into making them for me each time :) . Momma's food always tastes better, you know this!

Preheat your oven to 450.

2 1/2 cups of Bisquick
1 Tbsp. butter, melted
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 pkg. of yeast (1 1/2 tsp.)
1/4 cup warm water
1 tsp. sugar

Combine yeast, sugar and warm water.  Set aside for 5 minutes.

While your yeast is doing it's "thang", combine your Bisquick and buttermilk in a seperate bowl. Mix well.

Add your melted butter and yeast mixture. Stir until a soft dough forms.

Turn out your dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead about 20 times.

Roll out 1/2 inch thick and CUT to form your biscuits.

Warm your pan, NOT HOT, just warm (put in the oven for a minute or two). Once pan is warm, add some melted butter to the bottom of the pan, about 3 Tbsp. will do,  add your biscuits.

Let rise for 5 minutes (or so, depending on your kitchen environment, you may need to leave a few minutes longer).

Bake for 10 minutes, or until lightly browned.
